IIS-CED Workshop 2017

The 23rd Workshop of the IIS-CED at Bad Soden took place on September 7-8, 2017.
The workshop continued to cover the synthesis and applications of isotopes and isotopically labelled compounds. New methods in synthetic organic chemistry relevant to isotopic labelling, applications of compounds labelled with radionuclides and stable isotopes, PET chemistry, new trends in analytical techniques, radioactive material’s storage management and waste disposal were in the focus of the meeting.
By established tradition, an analytical pre-workshop starting on Thursday morning (September 7) has been organised by Dr. Martin Sandvoss.
It was a great pleasure for us to announce that Prof. Tobias Ritter, Director at the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung, Mülheim and Visiting Professor at Harvard University and Prof. Thorsten Bach, Technische Universitaet Muenchen gave the plenary lectures at the workshop. Professor Ritter is known, among other things, for his outstanding contributions in the field of fluorination chemistry. The research activities of Professor Bach are focused on new catalytic methods especially photochemical techniques.
